Sussexvale
A small place for big ideas to start.

Sussexvale is my free side project. I moved to Sussex, got bored, and started building things. No sales pitch. No subscriptions. Just useful links, free email, and experiments held together by coffee and questionable optimism.

Sussexvale landscape

What Sussexvale is

A free little corner of the internet

Anyone can use Sussexvale. Get a free email address, share a neat link, or simply have a look around. The control panel is called Mural; it is the backstage bit, not another product to buy.

What you get

Built in spare time, kept human

The whole thing runs on an Oracle free VPS and a laptop with a broken screen hiding in my bedroom closet. It works until it does not; I fix it when I notice. Your data is backed up regularly and kept redundantly in multiple places, so one grumpy machine is not the end of the story.

Free email

A proper-looking address without a bill attached. Availability depends on the tiny machines behind the curtain.

Simple links

Useful pages and personal addresses that are easier to remember than a folder full of random URLs.

No sales department

No currency selector, checkout trap, or “limited-time” nonsense. This is a side project.

Local enough to find

If something breaks at the Aiton Road intersection, look for the tired IT guy who probably caused it.

Early, on purpose

New enough to care about every account

We are still near the beginning, and the numbers below come directly from Canvas. No borrowed logos and no suspiciously enormous counters.

3Mural accounts

OMail · Free professional email

Your name looks better after the @

Bring a domain you already own or choose an available address on one of ours. OMail gives your work a proper email identity without adding another monthly bill.

No server purchase. No trial timer. No tiny sentence waiting to become a surprise later. Just a free project held together with curiosity, coffee, backups, and a balloon dad joke I am still workshopping.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before you spend anything.

Who is behind Sussexvale?

We are students who gained access to datacenter infrastructure and decided to put it to useful work. Sussexvale is our way of making practical hosting easier to try, with clear limits and prices that stay close to the real cost.

Where are Sussexvale services hosted?

Services run in datacenter environments available through the Sussexvale network. The relevant service page tells you the location and access details you need. We keep host-level security and network details private, as a responsible provider should.

How do you keep server prices so low?

When we already have useful compute capacity, we price it with a deliberately thin margin. Some resources, especially dedicated public IPv4 addresses and extra storage, have a direct cost and are priced separately instead of being hidden inside every plan.

What is the difference between a NAT VPS and a VDS?

A NAT VPS is the budget-friendly choice for smaller projects and uses assigned network ports instead of its own public IPv4 address. A VDS gives you a larger, more consistent share of compute resources for workloads that need more room and predictability.

How does payment and activation work?

Canvas creates an invoice when you place an order. Pay within 24 hours and upload your proof of payment. We verify it, approve the invoice, and move the service into activation. Renewals are issued seven days before expiry.

Is OMail really free?

Yes. You can use your own domain or an available Sussexvale-provided domain for a professional email identity without buying a server first. There is no trial countdown hiding behind the curtain.

Why Sussexvale exists

Faster than service in Sussex (New Brunswick). Probably.

If you find a bug, tell me. If you find me at Aiton Road, please bring coffee.
